Unzip Files Online

Look inside a ZIP and save the files you need. Your archive stays on your device.

  • Runs in your browser
  • No sign-up
  • No watermark

Choose a .zip file to see every file in it with its size. Download single files, or tick several and save them together. Files are only unpacked when you download them, and the archive is read in your browser without being uploaded.

Password-protected ZIPs are not supported. To protect your browser, archives that would unpack to more than 4 GB or hold more than 10,000 files are refused, and single files over 500 MB are not extracted. Unsafe paths, such as ones starting with a slash or containing .., are cleaned up.

How to use Unzip

  1. Choose a .zip file, or drop it onto the box.
  2. Browse the list, or type in the filter to find a file.
  3. Select Download beside a file, or tick several and select Download selected.

Frequently asked questions

Is my ZIP uploaded?

No. It is opened in your browser and never sent to a server.

Can I open a password-protected ZIP?

No. Encrypted ZIPs are not supported and the tool will tell you if it finds one. Use a desktop archiver and the password instead.

Why can I not download everything at once?

Browsers limit many automatic downloads. You can tick up to 25 files and save them together. For more, download in several rounds.

Are there size limits?

Yes. Archives that unpack to more than 4 GB, hold more than 10,000 files, or contain a single file over 500 MB are not opened. This guards against decompression bombs that could freeze your browser.

What happens to folders inside the ZIP?

The list shows the full path of each file. Downloaded files are saved by file name only, without their folders.

Which formats work?

Standard .zip files. RAR, 7z, tar and gz archives are not supported.
