Sign a PDF

Add a drawn or typed signature to a PDF page. Your file stays on your device.

  • Runs in your browser
  • No sign-up
  • No watermark

Sign PDF lets you draw your signature with a mouse or finger, or type your name in a script style. You then see a preview of the page, click or drag to put the signature where it belongs, set its size, and save. You can also repeat the same signature at the same spot on every page.

Please note what this is. The tool adds a picture of a signature to the page. It is not a certified digital signature: it does not use a certificate, does not prove who signed, and does not lock the document against later changes. That is enough for many everyday forms, but some contracts and official processes require a proper digital signature. Your file and your signature are handled in your browser and are not uploaded.

How to use Sign PDF

  1. Choose a PDF from your device, or drop it onto the box.
  2. Draw your signature, or switch to Type and enter your name. Pick an ink colour.
  3. Go to the page you want, then click or drag on the preview to place the signature. Use the size slider to resize it.
  4. Select Add signature, then download the file.

Frequently asked questions

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. The page preview and the signing both happen in your browser. Neither the file nor your signature is sent anywhere.

Is this a legally binding or digital signature?

It is an image of a signature only. It is not a certified digital signature with a certificate. Whether an image signature is accepted depends on the document and on your local rules, so check with the person asking you to sign.

Can someone remove or copy my signature?

Yes. The signature is a normal image on the page, so someone with PDF editing software could move or delete it, and anyone can copy the picture. Do not use this for anything where that is a risk.

Can I sign more than one page?

Tick the option to put the signature at the same spot on every page. To sign different pages differently, sign once, download the file, and open it here again.

Does it fill in form fields or add text and dates?

No. It only places a signature image. It does not fill in form fields or add typed text or dates.

Why does my typed signature look different on another device?

The script style uses fonts that are installed on your device, so the look changes between computers and phones. Once you save, the signature in the PDF is a fixed image.
