Text to DOCX Converter
Create a Word document from plain text. Your text stays on your device.
- Runs in your browser
- No sign-up
- No watermark
Paste your text or load a .txt file and download it as a .docx that opens in Word, Google Docs, LibreOffice and Pages. A blank line starts a new paragraph, and lines that begin with #, ## or ### can become Heading 1, 2 and 3. You choose the font, size, line spacing and page size. The file is built in your browser, so your text is not uploaded.
The result is a plain document. Other Markdown, such as bold, lists, links and tables, is not converted and stays as typed.

Frequently asked questions
Is my text uploaded?
No. The .docx file is created in your browser and nothing is sent to a server.
How are paragraphs decided?
A blank line starts a new paragraph. Single line breaks stay as line breaks inside the paragraph, or you can turn that off to join the lines with spaces.
Does it convert Markdown?
Only headings made with #, ## and ###. Bold, italics, lists, links and tables are not converted, so they appear as the characters you typed.
Will it keep accents and other languages?
Yes. Unicode text such as accents, Arabic, Chinese and emoji is saved as it is. Whether it displays well depends on the font on the computer that opens the file.
Which programs open the file?
Any program that reads .docx files, including Word, Google Docs, LibreOffice and Apple Pages.
Can I change the font later?
Yes. The font and size are set as the document defaults and the headings use Word styles, so you can change them in your word processor.
