Free QR Code Generator
Create a QR code and download it as PNG or SVG. Your text stays on your device.
- Runs in your browser
- No sign-up
- No watermark
QR Code Generator makes a code for a web link, any text, a Wi-Fi network or a ready-to-send email. Pick the size, the margin, the colours and the error correction level, then download a PNG for documents and screens or an SVG for print.
The code is built in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to a server, and the codes do not expire, because they hold the data itself rather than a redirect link.
How to use QR Code Generator
- Choose what the code is for: Text or URL, Wi-Fi or Email.
- Enter the details. The preview updates as you type.
- Set the size, colours and error correction level.
- Select Download PNG or Download SVG, and test the code with your phone.
Frequently asked questions
Is what I type uploaded?
No. The code is generated in your browser. This matters for Wi-Fi passwords.
Do the codes expire?
No. The text is stored in the pattern itself. There is no tracking link, so the code works as long as its content does.
What is error correction?
It lets a scanner read the code even when part of it is dirty or covered. Higher levels survive more damage but make a denser code. Medium is a good default.
PNG or SVG?
PNG is a fixed-size picture, fine for screens and documents. SVG scales to any size without blur, so it suits print.
Why will my code not scan?
Check contrast: dark squares on a light background scan best, and a light-on-dark code may fail on some scanners. Keep a margin of about 4 squares, and avoid making the code very small.
How much text can a code hold?
A few hundred characters, fewer at higher error correction levels. If it is too long, the tool says so. Shorten the text or choose a lower level.
Can I add a logo?
No. This tool does not place a logo in the code.
